STAAR Information

If your child did not pass one or more of the required STAAR tests, he/she has several opportunities to retake the assessment(s). The first retesting opportunity will be offered during the summer June 25-28 at Oak Ridge High School 9th Grade Campus. In order to take advantage of the first testing opportunity your student must sign up on the school’s website or at http://tinyurl.com/kg69pjw.

Students will be much more successful if they take part in our STAAR Summer Boot Camp. The Boot Camp will be on the 9th grade campus June 11th-14th and 18th-21st. Students can pick either week to attend and can participate in up to two different sessions per day. Session One will be 8 am – 10:00 am and Session Two will be 10:0 am-12:00 pm. Students need to register for the Boot Camp at the same site as the test registration, http://tinyurl.com/kg69pjw.

The second assessment opportunity will be in December, 2018. Students will be provided extra support in preparation of the December testing through their class schedule. The campus will be closely monitoring your child’s progress. We encourage you to support your student and to communicate with the school as necessary in order to be sure that he/she is prepared for these assessment opportunities.
