Oak Ridge High School is committed to offering a language arts program that focuses on improving reading and writing skills while promoting critical thinking and communication through a varied curriculum. The program aims to instill a lifelong passion for language and literature, ensuring students are ready for personal and professional success.

In Conroe ISD, we encourage all students to read over the summer in order to enrich learning and provoke thought. Summer reading strengthens reading skills, increases academic achievement, fosters a love for reading, and empowers students to become life-long learners.

Additionally, students who enroll in advanced English courses are expected to engage in summer reading as it provides preparation for the upcoming school year and creates a common framework for classroom discussion and instruction.
